The digital edition of Cidade CAOS’ debut album, with the same title, is available on the usual music platforms on September 20th.
Based in Lisbon, this essentially instrumental music project presents us on this album with 8 original songs born from an assumed influence of the soundtracks of American B-series films, short and feature-length action films, adventures, or simple contemplation and live tune with various places in the world discovered during travels.
In addition to Dead End Surf and A Strummer Among the Angels, previously released singles, we can now also listen to Brand New Red Sea, Moses, Night Drive, Entrudo, Bye Bye Brazil, and God By The Seaside.
Composition and production was handled by Cidade CAOS, with the participation of Nuno Billy Domingues on guitars and percussion, and Duarte Carvalho and Afonso Castro also on guitars. It was recorded in 3 studios, Cidade CAOS Studio, Gravar-Com and Tangerine Tree Studio, with the mixing and mastering done in the latter. The very expressive photograph on the cover is by André Sobreira.
Cidade CAOS is the work of a musician who signs with precisely the same name, not wanting to reveal much more than the possible musical collaborations that may exist and the people involved in the technical part of the project. His professional past is full of some albums produced and joining some groups.
Starting from the concept “a soundtrack for every moment and for each of us” the sound of Cidade CAOS is always an open book on the sometimes most unlikely page. No musical element is refused, there will be a theme where it will certainly happen. Even the verbs and sounds of everyday life, or night to night, are invited to enter and artistically reside.
