HMB (an acronym for Héber Marques Band) is a Portuguese soul and funk band active since 2007. The group consists of Héber Marques (lead vocalist), Fred Martinho (guitarist), Daniel Lima (keyboardist), Joel Silva (drummer), and Joel Xavier (bassist). All of the band’s released songs are sung in Portuguese.

They were nominated for the Best Portuguese Act award at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2014, 2016, and 2017. HMB won the Best Song award at the 2017 edition of the Globos de Ouro with the track “O Amor É Assim”, which features vocals by Carminho. They also won Best Group at the 2018 edition of the same event.

Between March and July 2017, Héber Marques served as a judge on Just Duet: O Dueto Perfeito, a singing competition broadcast by SIC.

“Naptel Xulima” (2015) — the second single from the band’s second album Sente — was featured in a Fox Life Portugal summer campaign in 2015. In 2017, “Não Me Leves a Mal” — the third single from +, HMB’s third album — was used in a commercial for Corpos Danone liquid yogurt, starring actress Jessica Athayde. Also in 2017, their song “Paixão” was used as the theme song for the telenovela of the same name.

The band was part of the first generation of resident artists at Nirvana Studios.
