How to be a proper radio entertainer on Xat.com

Well, this is one of those topics that I’ve been trying to improve for years and put into practice on radio or streaming in chat rooms on Xat.com. As a rule, all of these rooms have a “radio” where people with or without experience launch themselves into the world of amateur voiceover.

The main objective of these radio hosts is simply to play music of all kinds (as we all know), but announcing the songs and dedicating them to whoever is in the room has gone out of fashion, and as almost no one is actually a professional, in my opinion In my opinion, I think a lot can still be done.

But starting with parts, let’s look a little at the content that can be presented.

Even though we don’t have much experience, diction is important, to this we add animation and show some animation when speaking live. It is important that people understand the message that is being conveyed and at the same time not give the impression that one is “freighting” in front of the microphone.

One of the things I do when I speak is to appear happy and in a good mood, laugh without laughing, smile without being ridiculous, but show contentment when talking about something. Obviously we won’t do this if we eventually break sad news or talk about less good things, but listeners have to feel that vibration that the radio host is trying to convey.

Remember you are on a radio. People will pay attention to what you say, so you need to make sure they can understand you clearly so that the information comes through without noise.

Therefore, maintaining simple language with clear, easy-to-understand words will help you convey your message. Prefer short sentences, so that you can connect with your listeners more easily.

Every song, band, singer and composer has at least one relevant curiosity that can be publicized. It is not necessary to talk about their complete biography, just a summary of some songs and not just this topic, and it is not necessary to talk about each song that passes.
Letting 2 or 3 songs play before talking on the microphone about something helps the listener feel like wanting to know more and hear the voice of whoever is on the other side.

A good speaker needs to speak naturally and this may require the help of improvisation on many occasions. There are situations where things may go off the agenda and you will be forced to act on your own.

Whether due to breaking news, an error or even a rude response from a member in the chat room. There will be no shortage of opportunities that will require you to be flexible. Therefore, try to create situations in which you need to talk about random topics and look for information on topics you don’t know about. This way, you can be a better professional every day.

As I always say (and this depends on each person), try to show a little more Portuguese music and not just what other radio stations show. The streams on xat.com always play the same musical style, nothing changes, it’s always the same cycle.
