Well, here we go once again discussing about things regarding webradios on xat.com. And with you ladies and gentlemen (as described in the title), the Luso-Europeu web radio!
As always, I have to show you online radio stations that are on the internet, and as always, see if I can contribute something with my voice and my program, but if something is wrong, I will be the first person to give my opinion.
On February 6, 2025 I visited this radio station and tried to talk to the administrator to try to do some broadcasts since all the other stations were busy with guys playing shitty music. It was the first time in my life that I visited this space. I exchanged contact via WhatsApp with the administrator through the room until he finally called me after about 15 minutes.
The approach wasn’t quite what I expected from a web radio owner, but I still listened to what he had to say. As soon as I answered the call, they didn’t ask me who I was, or what I wanted to show on the channel, what program I wanted to do, or where I came from, etc., etc. I was immediately given the so-called “guidelines” or in this case rules for how this space operates.
Basically this is like the radio station Os Latinos (Isabel Correia and Vitor Santos) in the style: if you do radio here, you don’t do it anywhere else, a style of absurd exclusivity that only happens in these chat rooms (just from this we can already understand how much these people need listeners and probably announcers). And apparently it wasn’t just theirs, we have another one here.
Then there’s that scene, which we call in my work “privacy policy”, that is, the owners always want to get into our computers to “transfer files”, be they spots, tabs, music, etc. Nowadays there are countless ways to do this without going into the computers of the radio announcers/hosts, just put it in the “cloud”, send the link and people download it, simple.
I understand that sometimes it is necessary to enter the announcers’ PC to install the so-called “encoder”, but even so, almost 90% of people know how to perform this operation.
Note: this person (admin of this radio) still uses Sam Broadcaster… like, we’re in 2025… I mean, I don’t know… Sometimes for whatever reason I might be lost in time, right?
In short:
I spent more than half an hour (once again) in the chat room of this radio station, I greeted people, and only one person responded. It was 10:30 pm and there were only 3 listeners (according to the public chart). Should I recommend this radio station?… I don’t really know… There is no interaction, at night there are few listeners, it seems that there is a auto-DJ and the broadcasts start and end at certain times of the day (at dawn everything goes silent, and I don’t think the administrator is flexible in terms of schedules and communication.
