Born and raised in Lisbon, Nena has carried music within her since childhood. Although she wrote her very first song at the age of 12, life initially took her in different directions. It wasn’t until 2019, encouraged by the musician João Só, that she finally decided to pursue music professionally, revealing a talent that had been waiting for the right moment to shine.
Her creative process is remarkably organic; for Nena, lyrics and melody are usually born at the exact same time, as if they were inseparable. Love is the recurring heartbeat of her songwriting, serving as the primary inspiration for stories that deeply resonate with her audience. The Portuguese public quickly fell in love with her style, especially following the massive success of “Portas do Sol,” the breakout single that introduced her to the mainstream.
In November 2022, she solidified her place in the music scene with her debut album, “Ao fundo da rua.” The record features hits such as “Do Meu Ao Teu Correio,” “Passo a Passo,” and “Segui.” To celebrate the launch, Nena took the stage at Casino Estoril for a memorable concert, joined by special guests and close friends like Bárbara Tinoco, Carolina de Deus, and João Só.
Official recognition followed swiftly. In 2023, Nena won the Play Award for “Best New Artist,” confirming her significant impact on the industry. To cap off a golden year, she made her debut at the iconic Coliseu dos Recreios on November 23rd, performing to a sold-out crowd—a definitive moment proving that Nena is one of the brightest stars of her generation.
