Carlos Maria Pereira Trindade (Lisbon, October 28, 1954) is a Portuguese musician and producer.

Carlos Maria Trindade formed Soft Thud in 1971 with Paulo Pedro Gonçalves. In 1979, he was one of the founders of Corpo Diplomático, which went on to release the album “Música Moderna.”

After the group’s breakup, they formed Heróis do Mar in September 1980. In 1982, the single “Princesa” was released by Vimúsica. The album “Tédio” was planned but was never released due to the bankruptcy of the label. In 1986, he produced the album “Spleen” by Rádio Macau. In the following years, he produced the album “Circo de Feras” by Xutos & Pontapés and the first two albums by Delfins.

Heróis do Mar ended their career in 1989. In 1991, the album “Mr. Wollogallu” by Carlos Maria Trindade and Nuno Canavarro was released. That same year, he replaced Tozé Brito as national A&R for Polygram. In 1994, Carlos Maria Trindade produced records by Issabary and Paulo Bragança. He was invited to replace Rodrigo Leão in Madredeus, leaving his A&R position. In 1996, the album “Deep Travel” was released, featuring songs like “Sky and Soul,” featuring singer Natacha Atlas, and “Urban Monks.”

He produced the album “Love?” by Santos & Pecadores. Carlos Maria Trindade and Paulo Bragança participated in the compilation “Onda Sonora – Red Hot + Lisbon” with the track “A Névoa.” He produced the album “Fado Curvo” by Mariza (2003), which includes two songs he wrote, “O Deserto” and “Fado Curvo.” He collaborated with Anabela on the 2005 album “Aether.” One of Carlos Maria Trindade’s songs was included on Teresa Salgueiro’s duet album. The album “Música Naive” (2006) by No Data was released, a project by Carlos Maria Trindade and Luis Bethoven.
