Born in Cartaxo, musician Idálio Jesus built the foundation of his artistic journey on local stages between 1973 and 1985, performing as a member of several regional bands. Following this period of intense group activity, he took a extended hiatus lasting over three decades, keeping his passion for music on hold until the right moment for a definitive return to artistic projects.
His return to musical creation took shape in 2020, marked by a new direction: focusing on solo composition and original work. Driven by a high standard of sound quality, Idálio Jesus ensured that all of his original tracks were recorded in a professional studio, officially registered with the Portuguese Society of Authors (SPA), and assigned standard ISRC codes to guarantee the protection and professionalism of his catalog.
To complement his songs and add a deeper expressive dimension, the musician began producing music videos tailored to his lyrics. Through this approach, he developed an audiovisual body of work in which he retains complete authorship of both the audio and visual components, building a cohesive and personalized artistic identity.
The sole exception to his catalog of original works is his rendition of the iconic theme from the movie The Last of the Mohicans. For this specific piece—where the musical composition belongs to the original soundtrack and the audio was not recorded in a studio setting—Idálio Jesus retains exclusive authorship of the video creation and direction, presenting it as a distinct visual project within his portfolio.
