Joaquim Ivandro Paulo, known simply as Ivandro, (Benguela, Angola; July 26, 1998), is a Portuguese-Angolan singer and musician. In Portugal he was a contestant on the television programs Ídolos in 2015 and Got Talent Portugal in 2017. In 2023, he was invited by RTP to be one of the composers for that year’s Festival da Canção.

He began his journey in music in 2013, starting by singing and playing the guitar, and then composed his first original songs. In 2015, he competed on the talent program Ídolos, not reaching the final stage of the competition. Two years later, in 2017, he participated in the Got Talent Portugal competition, not reaching the live gala stage.

From 2017 onwards, his singles began to be successful on social media, having collaborated with artists such as Instinto 26, Waze, Gson, Valdo and Goblin. In 2019, he released his first EP, Lua Cheia.

In September 2019, he collaborated with Portuguese rapper Bispo on the single “Essa Saia”, which reached over fifteen million plays on streaming platforms.

He collaborated with singer Bárbara Bandeira on the single “Como Tu”, released in September 2022, which reached double platinum in early 2023 and more than 9 million views on the YouTube platform.

Still in 2022, he released the song “Mó Paz”, together with Brazilian pop artist Iza, and performed his first concert in Angola, the country where he was born, in October of that year.

In 2023, he was invited by RTP to be one of the composers of that year’s Festival da Canção, having composed and performed the song “Povo”, which came in 5th place in the festival’s final classification.

Recognition and awards
In 2022, he was nominated in the Best Portuguese Act category at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

In 2022, he was nominated for the Portuguese Music Play-Awards, in the New Artist category. The following year, he received two more nominations, for Vodafone Song of the Year – with his hit “Lua” – and Best Male Artist, winning both awards.

At the end of November 2022, it was revealed that Ivandro had been the most listened to Portuguese artist on Spotify in Portugal that same year, with more than 900 thousand monthly listeners. A month later, he was distinguished as one of the Most Influential Black Perosnalities in Lusophony, by BANTUMEN’s PowerList100.
