Zeca Sempre Project

Zeca Sempre was a short-lived tribute project to José Afonso’s legacy, which brought together the voices of Nuno Guerreiro (ex-Ala dos Namorados), Olavo Bilac (Santos & Pecadores), Tozé Santos (Per7ume) and new arrangements by music producer Vítor Silva.

A sincere attempt to pay homage to the brilliant composer, said a few; an opportunistic approach to untouchable compositions so close to perfection, shouted many more! After releasing the album “O Que Faz Falta”, in which Zeca’s eternal themes were dressed in pop clothing, the group embarked on a tour in 2011 that ended at the Coliseus.

Viewed with suspicion by both critics and the public, the project ended its activity that same year. The group intended to present to all generations the rich musical legacy of José Afonso, heavily sprinkled with sounds, experiences and influences that its members wanted to keep current.
