With a long and fulfilling musical career, José Reza is one of the unmissable names in Portuguese music.
It was in the 70s when he released his first album, which had musical support from the group 1111 (by José Cid and Tó Zé Brito) and sang alongside Amália Rodrigues in his first television appearance.
Songs such as “Meu dear month of August”, “Uma vez na vida”, “És uma brasa”, “Cola-te a mim” are just some of the dozens of songs with a prominent place in the Portuguese songbook.
Winner of the Lisbon Marches Grand Prize in 2009 with the theme “Lisbon is a party” wins the same prize in 2020 with the theme “Amália is Lisbon”. A song that aims to celebrate Amália Rodrigues and her role in Portuguese roots and culture. An original way of revisiting some of the songs that everyone remembers, in a song composed using several fado titles made famous by Amália.
