Just Girls

Just Girls is a Portuguese girl group composed of Diana Monteiro, Ana Maria Velez, Helga Posser, and Kiara Timas. Like D’ZRT and 4 Taste, they are a project that originated from the TVI series Morangos com Açúcar, in which they appeared during the 5th and 6th seasons. In the series, they portrayed the characters Carolina, Anabela, Xana, and Alice.

History

They debuted with a self-titled album, Just Girls, released on November 26, 2007, which achieved quadruple platinum status and remained the best-selling album in Portugal for several weeks. This album featured hits such as “Não Te Deixes Vencer”, “Bye, Bye”, “O Jogo Já Começou”, and “A Vida Te Espera.” The group members also voiced the characters Musa, Flora, Tecna, and Layla in the Portuguese version of the 2008 animated film Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom.

On June 30, 2008, they released the music DVD Canta e Dança com Elas, which also went quadruple platinum, debuting at the top of the Portuguese sales charts in week 28 of 2008. On November 24, 2008, Just Girls released their second album, Play Me, which included the hit “Ser Radical.” The album stayed on the sales charts for several weeks and reached #2, achieving double platinum status. Later that year, they received a star in their honor on the Wall of Fame at Nirvana Studios.

On July 19, 2009, they released the DVD Ao Vivo no Campo Pequeno, recorded during a special concert in March. The DVD reached #1 for several weeks, earned a platinum certification, and was among the best-selling DVDs of the year.

On May 25, 2010, they released the album Pop Stars, which peaked at #12. On November 19 of the same year, they released the compilation album Bye Bye.

On June 8, 2024, Just Girls made their return to the stage with a special performance at Morangos com Açúcar: A Reunião, held at the Passeio Marítimo de Algés.
