Nuno Prata was born in 1975 and began his musical career in the 90s as a member of the band Suares dos Reis, alongside Manel Cruz, Peixe, and Kinorm, who would later form the Ornatos Violeta.

Start of Solo Career

After the end of Ornatos Violeta, Nuno Prata decided to record a solo demo titled “Todos os Dias Fossem Estes”, with 12 tracks that would be the basis for his first solo album. In 2003, he re-recorded some of these tracks with French multi-instrumentalist Nicolas Tricot, resulting in the demo “Nuno, Nico”.

First Solo Album

In 2006, Nuno Prata released his first solo album, “Todos os Dias Fossem Estes/Outros”, with 19 songs written between 2000 and 2005. The album was recorded by Nuno Prata and Nicolas Tricot, with a unique and experimental approach.

Break and Return

After the album’s reception fell short of expectations, Nuno Prata decided to take a break and completed a sculpture course at ESBAP. During this break, he also worked in the record section of FNAC.

Special Collaborations

In 2007, Nuno Prata participated in the tribute album to Adriano Correia de Oliveira and in the 3 Pistas series of the Portugália program on Antena 3. These special collaborations allowed him to continue developing his music and performing for the public.
