“Tsunamiz releases ‘Free and Young’ on April 25th”
An anthem of freedom for the post-2020 generation
On April 25th – Portugal’s Freedom Day – Tsunamiz, the alter ego of Bruno Sobral, releases “Free and Young“, an explosive single that blends electronic beats, alternative rock energy, and sharp social critique, all wrapped in powerful choruses and raw, emotional delivery.
Featuring Miguel Leonardo on vocals, the track is a generational cry: a wake-up call for those who feel trapped in a web of sweet illusions and absent leadership. The hypnotic lyrics work like a liberating mantra – “The leaders don’t have your back / So you can start again” – capturing the urgency of those who still believe that everything can change, while we’re still free and young.
More than a song, “Free and Young” is a cultural and political statement, released intentionally on the anniversary of the Carnation Revolution – the day Portugal regained its freedom. In a time when many feel that the ideals of April are at risk, Tsunamiz channels the restlessness of the post-2020 generation into a track designed to shake consciences and move bodies.
Produced and mixed by Tsunamiz, and co-written with Miguel Leonardo, the track is the result of a completely independent process.
“I’ve never had the money to pay someone to produce my music, so I had to learn to do it myself – through trial, error, and persistence,” explains Bruno.
‘Free and Young’ is both pop and punk, danceable and defiant, with one foot on the raw streets of Margem Sul and the other on the dance floors of Berlin or London. It’s a song to scream, dance, and wake up for good.
The single will be available on all digital platforms starting April 25th.
Live Concert – May 6th, Lisbon:
Tsunamiz will perform live on May 6th at Titanic Sur Mer (Lisbon), opening the night for the North American alt-pop project Madame Reaper. The concert will be an intense and unfiltered performance, with vocals, guitar, and beats under the command of one man.
About Tsunamiz:
Tsunamiz is the alter ego of Bruno Sobral, a musician and producer from the South Bank of the Tejo River. Raised in a humble family, he developed a unique sonic identity that combines rock, punk, electronic music, hip-hop, and global influences. From Nirvana to Daft Punk, from hardcore to African music or gypsy rhythms, Tsunamiz knows no genre boundaries: he creates melodic songs that hit hard and touch deep. His live show is an explosive one-man show: vocals, guitar, beats, and raw energy.
Tsunamiz is sonic resistance. Raw freedom. Music that doesn’t ask for permission.
