Viviane was born in Nice, France, but moved to Portugal at the age of 13. She began her musical career in 1990, forming the band Entre Aspas with Tó Viegas. The group released five albums before disbanding in 2005.
After achieving 3rd place in the Modern Music Competition of the Lisbon City Council, the band signed a contract with the multinational label BMG and recorded five albums under its banner. The project also participated in the tribute compilation to José Afonso, Filhos da Madrugada, and subsequently took part in the mega concert held in Alvalade, which brought together all the bands featured in the compilation.
Later that same year, 1995, Viviane recorded São Nicolau with Tó Viegas, a co-authored song included in the Christmas album Espanta-Espíritos, released by the independent label Dínamo.
In 2001, Viviane contributed to the debut CD of the collective project Linha da Frente, which was released by Universal the following year. She collaborated alongside artists such as João Aguardela, Luís Varatojo, Dora Fidalgo, Janelo, Prince Wadada, and Rui Duarte.
In 2003, she released O Sul, part of the Camaleão Azul project she shared with Tó Viegas. This work was based on the poetry of writer Fernando Cabrita and published under their own label, Zipmix Records. The single Nocturno III was extracted from this album.
In 2005, after the end of Entre Aspas, Viviane launched her solo career with the full-length album Amores Imperfeitos, co-produced with Tó Viegas. This album marked a turning point in her career, as she embarked on a new path in search of acoustic sounds.
She returned in 2007 with Viviane, a new acoustic album where she explored the sounds of fado and tango. This work revealed, above all, Viviane’s thirst for adventure in other musical realms, as she experimented with her vocal abilities and ventured further into new sonic landscapes.
In 2009, she joined the Rua da Saudade project alongside Susana Félix, Mafalda Arnauth, and Luanda Cozetti, lending her voice to the original lyrics of Ary dos Santos on the album Canções de Ary dos Santos.
