In 1997, singer Emanuel creates and invests in a group with the aim of being “the female Emanuel”. The name comes from some chocolates that existed at the time, which were called “bombocas”. So, that year, on the Vidisco label, the first album was released – “Não Queriam Mais Nada”.
In 1998, the group signed with the record label Espacial (until today) and a new work was released with the ballad “Deixa a Outra”, a ballad that gives the album its name.
In 1999, the third work was released – “De Uma Vez Por Todas”. They tour South Africa, Canada and, together with emigrants from Toronto, take their music to Cuba. They are considered Queens of Popular Music on TV Goiânia, on the Luna program.
In 2000, the album “Confessa o Teu Amor” was released. They return to America, this time to the Dominican Republic, where they are, once again, very well received. That same year, the song “É Tudo Treta” is part of the soundtrack for the film Te Amo Teresa.
In 2001, the group changed its name to Dandy. They release an album with one of the biggest hits of their career – “Enlouquecer Por Amor”. It is this theme that launches them into the media, playing countless times on national and international radio and spending more than three years on television. In the same year, they present the good music of Emanuel to Mexico.
In 2002, the group returned to its name Bombocas and released the album “O Retorno”. With the song “Aqui no Bairro”, they are part of the soundtrack of the soap opera Sonhos Traídos, broadcast on TVI.

Emanuel, in 2006, changed one of his biggest hits to a female version – “Tic, Tic das Mulheres” – the track that gave its name to that year’s album. In the same year, they were invited to tour in California.
In May 2007, to celebrate 10 years of career, they released the album “Êxitos” and a party was held in the presence of family, friends and professional colleagues. They then return to sing together with the emigrants from Canada, who receive them, as always, with great affection.

In June 2010, with a new line-up and new music producer, Daniel Duarte, they released the album “ Eles São Todos Iguais”, very well done and recorded with care and special commitment. They begin another tour, this time on the other side of the world, in the city of Sydney, Australia, where they were invited to perform two shows, with the support of RTP Internacional.
The 2011 Tour began in January, with a return to American lands, this time to Cuba and, then, in February, to Canada (Toronto), with the company of Gente da Nossa TV. 2011 was another successful year for Bombocas, who, in addition to a tour of Portugal, also toured several European countries and returned to Canada twice (Toronto and Montréal), where they performed 4 shows.

Celebrating 15 years of career, in June 2012, the album “Baila Comigo Amor” was released, once again by Editora Espacial. A fun and popular album, in the Bombocas style, this time with some themes with slightly different rhythms, from kuduro to kizomba, also ending with a ballad, as expected.
In 2013, in June, the album “Coisinha Bonita” was released, which features the special participation of the great name in Portuguese music, Ricardo Landum, who composes 3 of the 5 new songs. Also present on the album are 8 hits from Bombocas’ long career.
At the end of 2014, another album will be released by this duo, who have already had a 17-year career. The single “Encontrei o Amor” gives its name to this new work, which is distinguished by the presence of African rhythms (with a greater incidence in kizomba), without ever forgetting the essence of Portuguese popular music, which characterizes Bombocas so well.
From this 15th work, another song also stands out, “O Ginga, Ginga”, with a seductive rhythm, making this album a true box of surprises for the public to explore. The countries where they perform most frequently are France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium. With the brilliance of one of the most applauded female duos and performers of some of the biggest hits in popular music, the Bombocas sing the songs that will be at the center of the musical entertainment at parties across the country. The most current rhythms and sounds make Bombocas’ new themes songs heard and played repeatedly, a carefully selected lineup that is so representative and characteristic of this duo.
