SYRO is the artistic name of Diogo Lopes who was born in Barreiro on February 23, 1995, a young man who since the age of 12 has been connected to the music world, as a drummer, having integrated several projects.
Later he graduated in jazz and modern music, was part of the band Caelum, and today he is a singer, author and producer of pop music.
For the last 3 years, he has released several singles independently, but the one that made him stand out in the current music scene was the theme Perto De Mim, released in January 2020, and which has thousands of views on YouTube.
The songs he has released have been part of the playlists of national radios and integrated the soundtracks of several Portuguese soap operas and television programs, where he already has several participations.
SYRO’s songs “deal with introspective thoughts, how he sees the world we live in and how he fits into it, refuting the plasticity of modern day lyrics and always looking for the perfect synergy between contemporary musical influences and innovative and organic and felt productions”.
Wake up is another of the singer’s very popular themes, having also been released in 2020.
In 2021 he was featured as one of the most sought after national artists on the MTV Portugal channel, and was nominated for the Play Awards as revelation artist of the year.
In October 2021, his first album, Genesis, was released under the seal of Sony Music Portugal, and the following week he made his first concert performance in Porto, at the Hard Club, on the 27th, followed by the Capitólio, in Lisbon, on the 3rd of December of that year.

SYRO was one of the authors invited to present a theme for the Festival RTP da Canção 2022, having participated with the song “Aeio Nos Somos” which qualified for the final.
