Miguel Gameiro

Miguel Gameiro (Lisbon, February 15, 1974) is the founding vocalist of the Portuguese band Pólo Norte and a solo singer since 2010.

He started playing music in 1992, at the age of 18, as one of the founders of Pólo Norte. From an early age he was interested in writing and music, an interest that would prove to be crucial in the composition of some of the group’s most emblematic songs.

In 1994, the group’s first album, Expedição, was released.

He collaborated with Paulo Pedro Gonçalves on the Ovelha Negra project. He is on tour with the Portugal A Cantar project.

In 2010 he released his debut solo album “A Porta ao Lado” while the group Pólo Norte took a break. The album 11 Canções was released in 2013.

In 2015 he is the author of the song “Has a sea that separates us”, performed by Leonor Andrade, which wins this year’s Festival RTP da Canção.
