Cidália Moreira

Cidália Moreira is a Portuguese singer, actress and fado singer born in Olhão, Portugal, in 1944.

She is known as the “gypsy fado singer”. From an early age, she demonstrated her passion for singing and dancing, and this was reflected in her school parties, where she stood out. At the age of 7, she became the lead singer of a dance entertainment group, in which she remained until she was 14.

In 1973, she left for Lisbon and made her professional debut at the Viela restaurant, on Rua das Taipas. She recorded several EP and LP albums and went on tours that took her to France, Spain, South Africa, the USA and Canada. She was also successful in Brazil, where she stayed for four years.

Cidália Moreira was Professor Karma’s companion. She also performed in revue theater, standing out in revues such as Cá Vamos Cantando e Rindo, Ora Bolas P’ró Pagode and Força, Força Comarada Zé. In 2021, she returned to Teatro Maria Vitória in the magazine “ Vamos ao Parque”.

Cidália Moreira is a Portuguese fado singer with a long-standing musical career. She recorded several EP and LP albums and went on tours that took her to France, Spain, South Africa, the USA and Canada. Although she has several popular songs, it is difficult to determine which is the most famous. Some of her hits include “O Meu Primeiro Amor”, “Maldito Fado” and “Fado da Mentira”.

She was later invited to perform in revue theater, standing out in revues such as Cá Vamos Cantando e Rindo, Ora Bolas P’ró Pagode and Força, Força Comarada Zé. At the ABC theater, she sings, in one of those revues, one of her biggest hits, Lisboa meu amor, which was never recorded on record. Wrong Fado was also one of her biggest hits.

In 2021, she returned to Teatro Maria Vitória in the magazine “Vamos ao Parque”. In 2023, in a ceremony held after the magazine Parabéns, Parque Mayer, she received a plaque of thanks from Lisbon City Council.
