Isabel Campelo

Isabel Campelo began singing in 1984. That year she collaborated on the musical “ABBAcadabra”. In 1985 he participated in the choirs of the RTP Song Festival.

In 1986 he provided the voice for the song “Boa noite, Vitinho!” section broadcast by RTP1 that urged children to go to bed at bedtime. This same theme, accompanied by the themes “Cantiga do Miluvit” and “Cantiga de Embalar”, were released on a single that enjoyed huge sales success and ended up being awarded a gold record. In 1988 the album “Por Que Não?” was released. also with repertoire for children.

She is one of the resident singers on Júlio Isidro’s program “De Volta ao Passado” in 1991.

He participated in the 1992 RTP Song Festival with “Boa noite tristeza” by José Niza. The following year he returned to the RTP Song Festival with “Praia Sem Marés”. He also performed at the Thessaloniki Festival in Greece.

Participates in the project “Música d’ Alma”, with Paulo de Carvalho, Vicente Amigo and others.

Isabel Campelo came 3rd in the 1994 RTP Song Festival with “Malmequer do Campo”.

In 1995 he returned to participate in the Thessaloniki Festival. That year, his second album, “Contraluz”, was released, which, among its 14 tracks, includes old songs from Portuguese classical music, chosen by Mário Martins, with arrangements by José Marinho. It also includes the two songs he took to the RTP Song Festival and another that he performed solo in Thessaloniki, Greece.

He participated in the musical “O Rapaz De Papel” directed by Juan Fonts and with music by Pedro Abrunhosa for Expo 98.

He co-authored and participated in the 1998 musical comedy “Casablanca Al Guacamole” with João Didelet.

In 2001, he sang the theme song for the soap opera “Nunca Digas Adeus” on TVI. She was a guest singer with the “Night And Day” and “Lisbon Big Band” orchestras.

In 2003, the album “Nascente” was released, built on the “AKIBOSSA” project by Isabel Campelo and Tuniko Goulart. The album had clear and assumed influences from Jazz, Bossa Nova, Funky and Afro-Latin music.

He participated in the musicals “Einstein’s Dreams” (2005-2006, Teatro da Trindade), “O Areias” (Aula Magna, June 2008) and “The Magic Alphabet” (2009).
