Along with the album creation process, Mafalda Arnauth continues the various projects for which she has been requested.
Interpreter of the generic of the remake of the first Portuguese soap opera, “Vila Faia”, she also has a theme from the new album integrated in the soundtrack, “Amor Abre A Janela”, by Tiago Torres da Silva and Luís Pontes.
She is also invited to participate in a project by Basque musician Kepa Junquera, interpreting themes from the traditional Basque song in its original version.
The concert schedule continues equally intense and with important milestones to be mentioned, such as Bozar, in Belgium, the return to Concertgebow, in the Netherlands, followed by another concert in The Hague, three concerts in Italy following the release of the album “Diário” this year. territory, highlighting the last concert in Rome, in one of the most prestigious venues in the country, and finally the trip to São Paulo for an absolute premiere in one of the most emblematic venues in Brazil, Bar Baretto, where some of the biggest names in music have performed. As part of the Fado Festival, in June 2008, in Lisbon, Mafalda Arnauth presents a premiere concert for the purpose entitled “Classics, Standards and Rarities”.
In August, he meets with Pablo Milanês in SOS de los Reys Católicos, sharing the stage with the famous Cuban singer and one of his most famous themes, “Para Vivir”.

TRAVEL OF EMOTIONS

2009 begins in the best way with the presence in Italy on one of the most famous television programs, followed by recognition of the artist’s work by the Italian press that culminates, at the end of that year, with the release of the last album in this territory.
“Flor de Fado” is also launched in France, in April 2009, at Les Trois Baudets, a room where the great artists of French Music also had their own premieres for many years.
There is also a brief tour in Finland, a visit to Canada and the edition of the album “Flor de Fado” in Spain. 2009 bids farewell to travel, in beauty, with a long-awaited tour of “Flor de Fado” in Holland for five concerts in several cities.
2009 is also a time for other projects, with the artist’s participation in the album “Rua da Saudade – Canções de Ary dos Santos”, in a meeting with Luanda Cozetti, Susana Félix and Viviane, to remember the extraordinary poet José Carlos Ary dos Santos.
In 2010, Mafalda Arnauth performed in Italy, a country where she increasingly achieved great notoriety and where she returned in August and October.
Among several concerts, she highlights the visit to the Canary Islands, Zimbabwe, at the renowned HFA Festival, and the presentation at the Coliseus in Porto and Lisbon with the project “Rua da Saudade”.
She is also part of the Festival dos Oceanos, in Lisbon, and returns to the memorable Grand Auditorium of the Concertgebow, in Amsterdam, for an audience of more than 2000 people.

In this celebration of her heritage, 2010 is the ideal year to reveal the artist’s new work: always with a creative spirit and with something very personal to convey to the public, the album “Fadas”, released in October 2010, is clearly a reunion with the Fado that surrounds it, which it increasingly assumes as inspiration and where it is urgent to go for inspiration. Amália Rodrigues, Hermínia Silva, Fernanda Baptista, Celeste Rodrigues and Beatriz da Conceição are just some of the references. All this, together with a surprising version of a theme by Ástor Piazzolla, with lyrics by Eládia Blasquez, and an original with lyrics by Tiago Torres da Silva and music by Francis Hime.
“Fadas” is released in Italy, in April 2011, where three more concerts take place. France, the United Kingdom, Finland, Morocco and Spain are the destinations that follow, interspersed with moments that prove that Fado happens in the most unexpected places, with special mention, in addition to the participation as a special guest in shows by Marco Rodrigues, Rui de Luna , Anjos e os Corvos, the return to the “Fado do Fado” and the performance at “Allgarve 2011” with SHOUT! for a completely new and memorable show.
And behold, at the end of November 2011, one of the most glorious news for Fado finally appears: its elevation to Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Having always been a voice firmly convinced of the possibility and validity of this distinction, Mafalda Arnauth celebrates this moment with all those who take part in it and integrates all the manifestations of pride and contentment, and therefore cannot fail to participate in the Gala – Fado Património da Humanity in the Coliseu dos Recreios.
From the meeting with the Argentine musician Ramón Maschio, at the beginning of 2012, “O Mar Fala de Ti – História de um Encontro” takes place, a series of unique concerts that feature the pianist Hélder Godinho and some special guests.
In 2012, the album “Fadas” is released in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile. The Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires welcomes the “Fadista Positiva” as the journalist of one of the most important newspapers in Argentina called her, “La Nacion”.
“Fadas” is also time for duets: Marco Rodrigues, José Antonio Rodríguez, Per7ume, Rui de Luna and Juan Carlos Cambas are some of the musicians Mafalda Arnauth crosses paths with at this point in her career.
THE YEAR OF MEETINGS
Returning to Portugal after one of the longest absences in the country, Mafalda Arnauth is getting ready for different moments of sharing with other artists.
In May, he travels back to Buenos Aires to present two concerts directed by Ramón Maschio and share the stage with Pedro Aznar, in a memorable version of “Foi Deus”, one of Amália Rodrigues’ greatest hits. Soon after, she performed at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, joining Carminho, Camané and Carlos do Carmo, all superbly accompanied by the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, under the direction of Maestro Vasco de Azevedo.
It is also in 2013 that he participates in the album to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Carlos do Carmo’s career, singing with himself the theme “Nasceu Assim, Cresce Assim”, by Vasco Graça Moura and Fernando Tordo, thus integrating one of the most emblematic of the singer, all made up of duets with some of the most important names of the latest generation of Fado.
A NEW EARTH
Along with a year of experiences with other artists, 2013 is also the year of returning to the studio and preparing a new album, after 3 years without editing. Under the production of Tiago Machado and in a full return to the composition and creation of a state of mind manifested in 12 songs, most of them authored, Mafalda Arnauth completes a cycle of 15 years of editions of records largely dedicated to Fado, but also to her vision of the borders of it, this being one of her less traditional albums, if not the one that comes out of the scope of Fado, nevertheless maintaining the sources of inspiration that have always characterized this fado singer who likes to sing and reveal her vision of Life by the very words and sounds.
“Terra da Luz” marks a moment of creativity and personal discovery and the clear intention of this artist, in permanent evolution, to give something more to her audience and, above all, to offer an alternative through a clearly constructive and luminous message, as something which stems from your personal journey and in which you deeply believe.
For the year 2014, trips to this “Land of Light” are reserved, in concerts and presentations of the most diverse, which will culminate with the celebration, at the end of the year, of 15 years of recording career.
